Family-owned business in Greensboro is seeking a Controller to lead their team through the company’s growth. The Controller will financially guide the Company, and is responsible for ensuring internal control compliance and assisting in accounting, payroll, accounts payable and receivables and general operation functions.

Requirements:
Minimum 10 years in Accounting and Finance preferred.
Software’s preferred are Microsoft Office, Sage and Access 
Knowledge of GAAP, accrual based and fixed asset accounting. 
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required.
Onsite 5 days per week. Contract to hire opportunity.
Contract term 3-6 months.

Basic Functions: Financial reporting, all general accounting functions, record keeping and administration.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Responsible for all accounting functions of the corporation and ensuring that all accounting functions within the company are in compliance
· Responsible for monthly and annual financial statements
· Prepares for annual financial audit/review
· Budgeting, forecasting and record keeping
· Prepares general ledger reconciliations including bank account reconciliations
· Ensures internal control compliance
· Prepares monthly journal entries
· Calculates monthly sales commissions
· Performs monthly Accounting close process
· Through management of the department, provides leadership and supervision to all areas of accounting including Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payable and Materials Management
· Conducts random audits to ensure compliance with accounting procedures including GAAP
· Provides financial analysis and works on special projects as needed
· Other duties as assigned by management.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED
A) Position Directly Supervised – Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payable, General Accounting, Materials Management, Purchasing
B) Positions Indirectly Supervised – Contracted Firms such as CPA Firms and Auditors
Reports directly to CEO and will meet weekly
Approves all expenditures, initiates wires with approval from CEO
Internally, interacts primarily with accounting department and customer service department. Externally with: Consultants, Tax Preparers, Attorneys, Auditors, and Insurance Providers

Equivalent Education Level Required: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field

· Minimum 10 years in Accounting and Finance preferred
· Experience with ERP software, SAGE 101 preferred
 Proficient with Microsoft Office applications · Knowledge of GAAP, accrual based and fixed asset accounting ·
Knowledge of Microsoft Access preferred
