Position Overview

As a Senior UX Designer, you will be the UX lead on a large-scale design project, advocating for user-centered design and excellent UX practices. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, champion user experience, and play a critical role in shaping design processes. With a strong command of UX principles and the ability to lead a junior designer, you will ensure the delivery of intuitive, beautiful, and functional designs.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Lead UX design within an EPD (Engineering, Product, Design) team, composed of an Engineering Lead, Product Owner, and yourself as the Design Lead.
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to create and refine product offerings, while expanding existing products.
  • Maintain and contribute to the design system, including design principles, pattern libraries, and information architecture guidelines.
  • Build prototypes in 2D and 3D across varying levels of fidelity and validate concepts through user testing.
  • Interpret and act on product analytics to improve user experiences.
  • Mentor and provide constructive critique to junior designers.
  • Advocate for intuitive and user-centered design practices, ensuring all outputs are clear, functional, and visually compelling.
  • Work on motion studies, creating transitions and animations in collaboration with developers to enhance the user experience.
  • Develop onboarding, training, and marketing materials in support of the product.
  • Create 2D and 3D assets for multiple platforms and devices.

Basic Qualifications

  • Proven experience with Figma and proficiency in building interactive designs and prototypes.
  • Strong grasp of user experience principles and ability to apply them in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Experience leading design efforts on large-scale projects and mentoring junior designers.
  • Expertise in 2D and 3D asset creation, with experience in building prototypes across varying fidelities.
  • Ability to work remotely and align with West Coast time zone.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in maintaining and contributing to a comprehensive design system.
  • Familiarity with Figma design system best practices.
  • Experience with motion studies, animation, and creating smooth transitions in collaboration with developers.
  • Prior experience in the home services or technology industries.
