We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to join our IT team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and performance of our organization’s databases.


  • Install, configure, and maintain database management systems such as Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL
  • Design and implement database schemas, tables, and indexes to ensure optimal database performance and data integrity
  • Develop and implement database backup and recovery strategies to ensure data availability and minimize data loss
  • Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize database queries for improved efficiency
  • Collaborate with application developers to design and implement efficient database solutions that meet application requirements
  • Ensure database security by implementing and managing user access controls, authentication, and authorization mechanisms
  • Perform database capacity planning and scaling to accommodate growth and changing business needs
  • Develop and maintain database documentation, including data dictionaries, ERDs, and standard operating procedures
  • Participate in the development and implementation of data governance policies and procedures
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest database technologies, best practices, and industry trends


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3+ years of experience as a Database Administrator, with hands-on experience in database design, implementation, and maintenance
  • Strong knowledge of relational database management systems (RDBMS) such as Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with database performance tuning and optimization techniques
  • Experience with database backup, recovery, and high availability solutions
  • Knowledge of data modeling techniques and database design principles
  • Familiarity with database security best practices and access control mechanisms
  • Experience with database monitoring and performance analysis tools
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Certification in database administration (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified Database Administrator)
  • Experience with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., Amazon RDS, Google Cloud SQL, Microsoft Azure SQL Database)
  • Knowledge of data warehousing and business intelligence concepts
  • Experience with database automation and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Perl, Shell scripting)
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., version control, continuous integration/continuous deployment)
